I'm Bringing Gratitude Back (Part 1 of 2)

The holiday season is upon us.

We are in the home stretch of this year & I certainly hope it’s been a memorable one full of adventure, love, & laughter. I want to encourage you to make time over the next few weeks to take in your environs & give thanks so allow me to introduce this first post of a two-part series talking all things gratitude.

This is especially important & beneficial as we enter this very special time of year. The holidays can cause unintended craziness between expectations & different relationships so one of the best tools to carry with you is an attitude of gratitude because in truth, we’re all pretty lucky.

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.
— Melody Beattie

I’ll start this off by saying that I haven’t always come from a place of appreciation & positivity. It’s been a long & sometimes challenging trek but I am thankful for this path because it’s mine & it’s led me to this very point. I can remember days when I woke up feeling lonely & hopeless so I would fill the void with destructive behavior. I took everything for a personal attack & found myself asking, ‘Why?’ instead of creating change.

Gratitude is simply the act of being grateful but for me
it’s so much more.

It’s showing appreciation for each day & whatever it may bring.
It’s pausing in the midst of your busy life to take it all in.
It’s genuinely saying thank you when warranted.
It’s choosing to see the good in each moment.
It’s celebrating as often as possible.

So here are 7 things I am grateful for today & everyday.

this journey

IT'S UNIQUE TO ME & THAT'S A WONDERFUL THING
BECAUSE I WOULDN'T TRADE IT FOR the world

passion

a driving force behind how I live my life
& I couldn’t imagine it any other way

curiosity

because i want to do, learn, & see as much as possible

the future
